Update on yesterday

I think yesterday killed us, we got in 3 appointments within 4 hours.  Went and saw the Physiatrist, she talked to us about the Botox injections and if we don't go with them then we can bet on numerous surgeries. So to get that ball rolling we have to see the Orthopedic surgeon, then set up a consult with both doctors then set up the actual appointment for the shots.  Tim is very much against shots of any kind, if he had his way our children wouldn't have had any shots.  But when he heard that if we don't get the botox into his muscles to loosen them up that he would have to have a ton of surgery's that changed.  Still don't know too much on what happens but from what I understand so far, he will get a small amount of botox into certain muscles in his legs, then the orthopedic surgeon will cast him and his legs will stay in a cast for a while (no idea if its just a few days or weeks) to stretch those muscles.  Then once he is out of the cast we will do hard core therapy.  He could get the shots as often as every 3 months or just once a year.  We have to see how his body reacts to them.  The Physiatrist also wrote out a script for a wheel chair fitting.  Our insurance company only allows us to get a chair every three years and in order for him to go to school he will probably need one.  And next year he turns three and EI will not come out to our house so off to preschool he will go.  He also got hip x rays done, and was fitted for new ankle braces yesterday as well.   A lot of stuff will be going on in the next few months.
