And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. ~Romans 12:2~

Special Needs

As we draw nearer to Phoenix's 2nd birthday its becoming more and more apparent how delayed he is.  The other day we went to the aquarium and they didn't allow strollers, so I had to check in and get a special handicap tag to put on Phoenix's stroller.  We got a special map that told us an alternative way to go to use all the elevators.  I got yelled at by a vendor for having Phoenix in my lap on a boat ride, and she just didn't understand why he couldn't sit by himself.  She thought I lied about his age and I had to tell her in front of a bunch of people that he has cerebral palsy.  Its just becoming more real that my little boy has special needs, and the reality of it all.  Its so hard not to compare the boys at the same ages, when I think about it I just want to cry.  But I know that God gave us this little boy because he knew we would be great parents to him, and we would teach each other the humility of life.

Some good news, Phoenix rolled over from his back to belly a few times today.  And he even got his legs under himself at one point when he was army crawling.  And best of all today he got to ride his first ever horse!  I was such a proud and happy mama :)

Big brother on the much bigger horse and loving every minute of it.

He just kept his head down and was playing with the saddle blanket

Here is my happy boy!!
