This has been on my verse of the week board for some time now. I read it everyday and it gives me strength to get through my day. I know that God is looking out for us, he has proved that time and time again. He knows when the time is right for things to happen in our life. I may not agree on the timing but that is God showing me that I'm just not ready and haven't learned enough from the experience. And I think grace is one of the greatest things he has given me, grace to accept the way things are and that I cannot change them. And I love him all the more for it.
Things have not been easy lately, but we are making it through it. I've got an awesome husband who is staying strong for us and two very special young boys helping me along.
A week ago Phoenix got his forth round of Botox. He was needing it so badly, his legs were so tight and he was in alot of pain from it. We are already seeing an improvement. I can stretch him more without him screaming and his gait is getting wider. He still crosses his legs when he walks but it will come. Today in school they reported that he is talking louder and clearer which always happens when he gets the Botox. He can relax his legs and focus on other skills. He now wears his MAFO's (ankle braces) all day long to stretch out those hamstrings. Then at night he is in knee mobilizers which keeps his legs straight while he is sleeping to stretch the other part of his hamstrings. This is one amazing kid, he is in some sort of brace 24/7 and doesn't complain one bit. And the love that I see from Tristen helping and encouraging him on at all his therapies makes me so happy and proud. This past week as well Phoenix had his yearly cerebral palsy clinic where we speak to the orthopedic surgeon She was happy with all his treatments, we just are keeping a close eye on his one hip. Its kinda not where its suppose to be so he will get xrays this fall. And we will be seeking a second set of eyes on him as well. We had a very not so happy experience with his physitrist this last time at Hershey so on for another eval at a different hospital. I will go to the ends of the earth for this little boy.
Tristen is doing well in school. He is loving it and they just got done learning about hibernation. Right now i'm seriously thinking of homeschooling next year and see how it goes. The thought of it is kinda scary, but Tim and I both believe its the right path for us. Lots of research on my part, but i'm lucky to know some awesome people that have advice.
So I will leave you with some pictures of the last month.
