Tristen started back up with school this past Wednesday and next week Phoenix goes back after having three weeks off. I'm kinda dreading it, as he has had his mommy everyday for the past 3 weeks. But i'm sure once he see's his buddy Gabe he will be fine. The last three days he actually asked me when he can go back, so maybe it will not be so bad. Next week also starts back Phoenix's extra therapies outside of school, and Tristen's physical therapy along with some extra doctors appointments, surgery's, and life in general. I kinda wish Christmas break could last a little longer!
Lets start with Tristen, he will be getting PT twice a week for six weeks to try to correct him walking on his tippy toes. He wakes up in great pain from some muscle close to his knees that is hindering this.
Phoenix will be getting some dental work done which requires him to go to sleep. He has a hole in his front tooth that needs to be filled and I'm sure they will find other things wrong as some of his teeth haven't developed enamel so they are turning a icky shade of green. Really hoping that his adult teeth come in better. Not really sure if its linked to his cp or not. I've read that children with cp do tend to develop teeth issues. He will also be getting his 4th round of Botox at the end of the month. and we have his yearly cp clinic, and neurologist appointment in there too. The beginning of the year is always fun with doctors appointments.
We have been seeing the benefits of all his extra therapy lately He is sooo very proud of himself that he can get up to a bridge position, on his hands and knees. All by himself too. I'll lay him on his back in the living room and then I hear him yelling for "MOM, see, look!" I'm really hoping with this next round of Botox that he will start crawling. He is so close, with the extra range of motion and me getting on the floor and helping him every chance I get I think he will be able to do it! He is also talking alot more, granted you need myself as his interpreter most of the times. I'm so proud of my little man. Everyday I love him more and more, he and his brother have taught me so much. I'm so very blessed to be able to stay at home and watch my boys grow.
No resolutions this year. I would say more goals then anything. I would like to apply my faith more front and center and have God first in my life. And I feel with that main goal all the rest will fall into place. I'm happy and content this past year wasn't bad, always a learning experience that leads you to where you are now.
May you all have a very blessed and happy new year!
