Busy February

February is already overwhelming me and its not even here yet.  As long as Phoenix doesn't get sick in the next 4 days he is scheduled to get his first round of Botox on Wednesday.  From what I understand at the moment we go in, the doctor will chat with us, he gets put under shots are given to specific muscles in his legs and then we are good to go home.   It takes about 10 days to see the effects.  At the consult before Phoenix gets his shots the Dr. might prescribe more PT, that is the most important part of it all. That we really get the stretching and attention to those legs down.  Then two weeks after the Botox we go back in and speak with an orthopedic surgeon and the physitrist and decide if we will cast him.  That all depends on how the Botox is working and his range of motion.   Its all just a wait and see kinda thing, each child reacts different and I have really high hopes.

Another thing going on is a sleep study for Phoenix.  He never slept though the night and is always sooo sleepy.  Well this morning when he was in bed sleeping with me I really noticed a tall tale sign of sleep apnea.  He stopped breathing for a few seconds and then gasped and that woke him up.  This must go on all night, my poor baby probably hasn't slept a good night in his little life.  So his pediatricians office is making calls to find a place that will do the sleep study in such a young patient.  Really hoping that its soon....just want him to be able to sleep peacefully.

So here is to a productive month, and hopefully leap and bounds for our Phoenix.
